Was our first time here and we decided on the 7 course Chefs tasting menu. We found out that it would include escargot and bone marrow...sold!
1st - scallop topped with uni and salmon roe - our favorite of the courses. So rich yet fresh.
2nd - salmon poke - was very cured...a tad bit too tart for my taste.
3rd - oyster topped with foie and uni - There is a sweetness to this like a balsamic glaze. I enjoyed this more without that sweet glaze.
4th - escargot and yamamoto - so garlicky and buttery. The yamamoto (Japanese plum) was so refreshing and cleansed our palate.
5th - Nigerian prawn - ooh wee!! The roe is abundance in this half piece we got each. The grilled taste was perfection.
6th - bone marrow topped with filet mignon and foie, along with yuzu truffle butter. Richness on top of richness...I need a piece of toast.
7th - banana harumaki with hojicha icecream - Hojicha icrecream was delicious. I wished we had the tiramisu though...
I also checked in and we got the edamame with truffle oil. That was yummy. Our waitress was great. Overall, we were so glad to visit Japaneiro and we will be returning patrons. -

We walked in this past Tuesday. The place smelled like sewage- extremely worrisome as the restaurant is selling very expensive raw items such as uni and oysters. We contemplated a few minutes until a series of events happened:
1) The restaurant is completely empty with the exception of the owners' children running around and one small party.
2) The menu is overpriced.
3) The waitress couldn't recommend one item on the menu when asked.
Due to a combination of these red flags, we decided to leave and dine elsewhere instead. -

We went again a week later because we loved this place so much! We tried the Gyozas for the appetizer and they were good so we almost ordered a second order (4 gyozas come per order).
For dinner I kept my order the same (it was that good) and of course had the edamame as my side! My boyfriend had the truffle marrow with the filet which is their signature dish and it was great. Best part, we brought the bones home to boil for the doggo!
I definitely suggest making a reservation, it is a tiny place and you don't want to miss out! -

Tried this place for the first time during its happy hour and I love it. The lotus chips and the lettuce wraps were my favorites because it's had so much flavor in it. I wasn't too fond on the ceviche, mostly because I don't generally like it but still tired. Overall still would definitely come back when I'm in t

It was my first time here. I was on vacation and didn't have to go to work early the next day so my girlfriends and I decided to try it out for late happy hour. We got there at 10, not realizing happy hour starts at 11. Isn't that pretty late to start happy hour??? Haha!! We decided to stay and try the food any way.
There was no one else there at the time. Our waitress Andrea from Hungary was super nice and accommodating. She gave us suggestions and every suggestion was simply delicious!! The food came out fast and very professionally made. Great presentation!!
I'm hoping to go back again for another happy hour. The prices for some of the items are significantly reduced for happy hour so is it worth it to time your visit??? Yes I'd say it it's definitely worth it!
